How do I fix a complication that isn't working?

Edited

If the complication you've added isn't displaying or updating, try the following to fix the issue:

  • If you just added a complication, it may take a few minutes to show

  • Tap the complication or open the Watch app to force it to refresh

  • Make sure your Watch and iPhone are connected to the internet and to each other

  • Make sure your Watch isn't in Low Power mode

  • Make sure Background App Refresh is turned on by following these steps:

    • Go to Settings on your iPhone

    • Tap "General"

    • Tap "Background App Refresh"

    • Make sure it's turned on for the app

  • Make sure your iPhone and Watch are updated to the latest OS version

  • Make sure the app on your phone is updated to the latest version

  • Make sure the Watch's time zone and date are set to update automatically, as incorrect times and dates can prevent the complication from updating correctly

  • Make sure there's enough storage available on your Watch (if it's nearly full or has a lot of apps installs, performance may degrade)

  • Check the Watch Face you're using, as some of them may not refresh complications as frequently or may not support certain types of complication

  • Remove the Watch Face and reinstall it

  • Re-install the app by following these steps:

    1. On your iPhone, open the Watch app

    2. Go to "My Watch"

    3. Go to the app

    4. Toggle "Show App on Apple Watch" off

    5. Wait a few seconds

    6. Toggle "Show App on Apple Watch" on

  • Restart your Watch

  • Un-pair the Watch from your iPhone and pair it again
